2013 – March 12, Stock Update.
We now have plenty of Raspberry Pi’s in stock, and enough pre-ordered with our supplier that we should be able to keep up with demand for the rest of this month. Anything that says it is ‘in stock’ on the web store is in stock, and will be posted to you within 24 hours of ordering.
USB 3.0 HUBs
We have a shipment of USB 3.0 hubs currently sitting in Brisbane customs, awaiting their approval. DHL is amazing, when customs don’t get in the way we often have packages that are in the factory in China on Friday, delivered to our warehouse on the Sunshine coast Tuesday. (I know some domestic ‘express’ couriers who struggle to provide that sort of service from Sydney to the Sunshine Coast.) However, Brisbane Customs have a 3 day turnaround agreement, and our last few shipments have been held for much longer than that. We’ve been waiting for clearance for 2 days now, so we hope to see these USB 3.0 hubs on Thursday. I expect to see them Friday or Monday.
Are inbound from Sydney and Adelaide to us on the Sunshine Coast. You should see the Starter, Complete and WiFi kits change to ‘in stock’ by Thursday.
Mini USB Wireless Keyboard + Trackpad
This thing is awesome. We’ve tested it with the Raspberry Pi and it runs without a powered hub, and had no problems with operating range or non-line-of-sight operation like some of the cheap and nasty wifi keyboards we’ve tried. It is the size of a small remote control, has a full qwerty keyboard and trackerpad. You wouldn’t want to be writing a word document using it, but as a remote control for XBMC, or a keyboard and mouse for a hidden raspberry Pi installation it’s awesome. Oh, and it’s rechargable via USB too, so no changing AAA batteries. We’ve only got 5 in stock, so if you want one you’ll want to be quick. We’re negotiating with our suppliers for an ongoing supply.
Mini Wired Keyboard & Mouse
If you’re looking for something more substantial that won’t take up too much room on your desk, we’ve found a mini USB keyboard and Mouse. As usual, it’s tested and selected so it won’t need a powered hub, and it’s available here:
Clear adafruit design acrylic cases
We’ve setup an agreement with a local laser cutter, and now have the clear adafruit design acrylic cases back in stock. These ship for free worldwide.
If you are hanging out to get your hands on something, the best bet is to pre-order. We fulfill orders on a first-in-first-served basis, and ship our stock to pre-orders before updating the website. At this stage it looks like the worst you’ll be waiting for anything at the moment is about 7 days.
We have had orders of 100 Pi’s in the past come out of the blue – especially at times like this when Australia is in short supply of Pi’s. Our estimates of stock availability are based on ‘normal daily order’ amounts, and could change rapidly. We will update the website if it looks like we’re going to run out of Pi’s again, but if you want to secure one, the only way is to pre order.
